In December, Citizens First Bank donated $24,500 to the Haven of Lake & Sumter Counties. The money was raised through a variety of charity initiatives put on by the bank, including branch candy sales, pumpkin decorating contests and more throughout the year. The Haven of Lake & Sumter Counties is a nonprofit that focuses on helping victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault. The bank has supported the organization for the past 30 years. Citizens also donated $2,500 to the United Way of Lake & Sumter Counties. The nonprofit in Leesburg is using the money to provide supplies and resources to residents affected by the recent hurricanes that hit Florida.
